岡山県の備中松山城は現存１２天守の一つであり、

岐阜県の岩村城・奈良県の高取城とあわせて

日本３大山城と呼ばれています。

標高４３０ｍの臥牛山頂上付近に建つ天守は、国の重要文化財で、

現存天守を持つ山城としては最も高い所にあります。
